Deionized Water (Aqua), Purified and deionized water. Usually the main solvent in cosmetic products.

Organic Aloe Barbadensis Leaf, potent moisturizer and has several anti-inflammatory (salicylates, polysaccharides, magnesium lactate and C-glucosyl chromone) as well as some antibacterial components. Helps wound healing and skin regeneration.

Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vitamin C), Sodium salt of vitamin C (aka ascorbic acid = AA). Pure vitamin C has a lack of stability so stable derivatives have to be created that can also be absorbed into the skin. SAP is a promising derivative that has great stability up to pH 7. Once absorbed, it converts to AA and unfolds its effects as anti-oxidant, collagen booster, and skin brightener. SAP has also been found to be very effective against acne. Vitamin C also protects against UVA rays. It synergizes with Vitamin E perfectly, as Vitamin E protects against the UVB spectrum, so both together cover UVA+UVB to yield broad-spectrum protection.

Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), Organic compound that acts as a sulfur donor. It has been shown to reduce facial wrinkles and increase firmness, tone, and texture. MSM is also anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative.

Cassia Angustifolia  Seed Polysaccharide, This compound mimics hyaluronic acid, which is also a polysaccharide. Polysaccharide extracted from C. angustifolia can hold up to 100x of its own weight in water, making it a very potent moisturizer.

Hamamelis Virginiana Extract (Witch Hazel), Very popular compound in cosmetics. It is loaded with astringent, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-bacterial components. The most important property is that witch hazel acts as vasoconstrictor (it makes the blood vessels narrower). This reduces the risk of infection and promotes the healing of broken skin by tightening up the skin proteins and thus creating a protective covering.

α-Tocopheryl acetate (Vitamin E), Esterified version of vitamin E, making it much more stable with a longer shelf-life. It’s the most commonly used version of vitamin E in cosmetics. It penetrates the skin where it is converted to vitamin E, unfolding its effects as strong anti-oxidant and providing protection against the sun’s UV rays .It lowers the production of sunburn cells, reduces the damage caused by UVB rays and inhibits photocarcinogenesis (the emergence of skin cancer caused by sunlight). It synergizes with Vitamin C perfectly, as Vitamin C protects against the UVA spectrum, so both together cover UVA+UVB to yield broad-spectrum protection.

Carbomer (25), Carbomers (also known as Polyacrylic acid PAA) are polymers derived from acrylic acid. They stabilize suspended solid in liquids, prevent emulsions from separating, and give gels a nice viscous and non-tacky consistency.

L-Arginine, Chemical name: 2-Amino-5-Guanidinopentanoic Acid. A semi-essential amino acid that is one of the primary building blocks of skin collagen. It's a natural moisturizing factor, a skin hydrator, and helps to speed up wound healing. Arginine usually has a positive charge (cationic) that makes it substantive to skin, which is negatively charged. It is an excellent film former. Due to the positive charge, it also creates a complex with AHAs (AHAs like to lose a hydrogen ion and be negatively charged, so the positive and the negative ions attract each other) that causes a "time-release AHA effect" and reduces the irritation associated with AHAs.

Ferulic Acid (FA), Phytochemical that can be found naturally in plant cell walls, especially in the bran of grasses such as rice, wheat, and oats. As a strong anti-oxidant, ferulic acid may help neutralize free radicals that break down the body’s cells and contribute to aging. Ferulic acid can also inhibit the creation of enzymes that speed up the generation of free radicals. This helps protect skin cells from further damage. Ferulic acid may help reduce photoaging as it blocks certain UV-rays. It is also an effective anti-inflammatory and is therefore beneficial for acne, hyperpigmentation, and seborrheic dermatitis. Ferulic acid has also been found to increase the effectiveness of other skin care ingredients, such as vitamins C and E.

Glycerin, Also named Glycerol. Very powerful ingredient that occurs naturally in the outermost layer of our skin (stratum corneum SC). It is a humectant, meaning it attracts water (even water vapor out of the air) and helps our skin to stay hydrated. Glycerin also regulates fluid balance (this is called osmoregulation) It helps to maintain the healthy state of the cell membranes and intracellular lipids (keeping the lipids in a nice liquid crystal state that is optimal for barrier function) It can normalize skin shedding in very dry skin. Glycerine is mildly antimicrobial and antiviral and protects against skin irritation.

Simmondsia chinensis (Jojoba Oil), Contrary to the name, it is not an oil but actually a wax ester (and calling it an oil is kind of sloppy). 25-30% of human sebum consists of wax esters, which provide basic protection from the environment. Jojoba oil is a very special kind of wax ester in that it is extremely stable and incredibly similar to human sebum. Some experts argue that because of this, it "tricks" the skin into thinking it has already produced enough sebum, which prevents oily skin. Furthermore, it forms a thin, non-greasy, semi-occlusive layer on your skin and diffuses into the intercellular spaces of the outer layer of the skin, making it soft and supple.

Phenoxyethanol, Organic compound that is germicidal and therefore used as a preservative. Phenoxyethanol occurs naturally such as in green tea. It is a safe and gentle replacement for parabens, which are used frequently in skin care but have been found to be irritating, possibly carcinogenic and interfering with your hormone receptors (so-called endocrine disruptors).

Ethylhexylglycerin Commonly found in cosmetics alongside phenoxyethanol because ethylhexylglycerin boosts the effectiveness of phenoxyethanol and other preservatives. It also has a great texture making products „feel nice“ on the skin. Furthermore, it’s an effective deodorant and emollient (moisturizer).
